Default My Stingray Wide Body Conversion Project (up to the flood/total loss)

I might as well post the photos of the work that was being done on my Stingray up until the flood/total loss. Here's the threat about the flood if you haven't seen it: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-stingray.html

I was really looking forward to the finished product! I still have a brand new custom ordered set of Z06 spec'd ADV1 velocity yellow and carbon flash wheels with new rubber on them sitting in boxes in my office. My shop did a great job tearing off the Stingray aperture panel and replacing it with the Z06 aperture panel. They had everything fitted and were ready to paint it all when the flood came. I had also asked them to paint the underside of the rear hatch velocity yellow, so they had spent a lot of time sanding and prepping it for paint.

Wow, you were definitely going for it with that build! Hopefully when all the dust settles you can pick up a new project. Good luck!

...or just buy a Z06 instead.

I actually don't want or need a Z06 for several reasons. And I started the wide body project before the GS was revealed.

If that car can be pieced out, please let me know. I'd like to take the widebody pieces that are good to go. PM me if it is a viable option. Thanks!

Loads of time & effort, not to mention money, very sad. Such a beautiful car.
Jeremy, would love to see pics of the new wheels if you have a chance.

Sounds like a new GS is what you need. Good luck with your settlement. I know we will see another fantastic C7 in your garage soon.

So let me get this straight, you send the car back to the factory to have it repainted and then you tear off half the car, put new pieces on, and have it painted at a local body shop?????

Just messin' with you. I agree with those above, sounds like a GS is in your future.

Buddy, I'm sick to my stomach. Go for a Grand Sport-we'll always remember Dual Velocity!

Look at the last 3 digits in your post count.
666 and you wonder why it happened. Just messing with you

The yellow car of yours is one of the nicest by far of any I have seen

I like that yellow rather than the new racing yellow so you may never be able to fully replace it

Hope your final new project goes better,

Jeff

How much was this going to cost? I really want the wide body, but I'm not sure if I want the Grand Sport as I don't like the wheels, larger side grills and spoiler in the rear.

Hopefully under $5k?

I got parts at cost and the shop owner is a friend, so labor wasn't going to be full rate either. That said, the wide body aperture, fender, and rear conversion was going to be about $5,000. I wasn't replacing the front fenders.
