One quick point to this post is that we haven't heard from Torchsport far quite a while. Hoping he just moved on rather than breaking more bones.

You seem to have an interest in dragracing. Where would you recommend to go in Dec/Jan/Feb for a northern resident? THANKS.

Assuming you want to race, I'd probably head to the FL, GA, SC area. There are 27 tracks among them. TX has a lot too. If you go to http://www.dragtimes.com/drag-racing...tors-tools.php you can click on -Select Track- to get a list of tracks all over the country. Google the tracks to see their schedule, since many shut down in Dec/Jan.

So how is Thompson these days? I used to race all over OH & MI in the 60's and set the first of 3 AHRA records at Thompson.

Little chit hanging out with the big boys today.....
She used all she had keeping up with the pack

Stopped at the Peppermint Twist in Delano MN. A corny little drive in with great food. The cajun chicken breast sandwich with onion rings is the best.

Nice pics. Randy!
Looks like you had the only convertible along for the ride.......

H1, no need to feed the squirrels the rings, he showed a transplanted LS3 under the hood of a "Lil Chit" a while back.......... possibly when you were on vacation.........

if you think a baser car is fast, just think how quick the mini version would be.................

Saw Trump tonight, and one of his comments reminded me of way's situation here............... when I am President, you would be in jail! way didn't lie, just visited "ban camp"

also the "all talk and no action" comments he made, kind of resembles some of the others here on the forum, not at Hammy's who seem to look for "approval" or "recognition" for something they may have, or did, and then get about it when someone may disagree with them..........................

they made their choice, why should the opinion of anyone else matter

and speaking of not seeing Torchy, anybody from the AZ area see or hear from JL's Mistress?

Those C7Z's are awesome machines no doubt about it, if money were no object I would have one in the garage. But little chit at about the third of the price and as much fun as it is to drive, I'm very content with with my decision.

too many issues with the C7 A8, either need to get a M7 or 2014 with A6........... if you decide to go that route

Thanks for the Info. As for track updates, Thompson is really nice and you always get plenty of seat time. Dragway 42 is under reconstruction and is a work in progress. Norwalk is , well, what more can I say!

Hey the Maker showed up.....nice to hear from you Torchy......what up in your world?

Hey Hoxxy why don't you post up some early drag racing pics of the way things were.....I always like to see those.....and others on here also I'm betting......Maybe this should be nostalgia week......old rides old Corvettes old Harleys........post them up so we can ohh and ahh.......

ok I will start.....this is a 55 Cheby that a friend built and then lost interest so I bought it from him and had it a couple of years......it had the double bump heads and a 30-30 Duntov cam in it and a big 4 bbl.......solids I believe......3 speed auto.......lots of fun. This is the infamous truck I was driving with my two young daughters in it, that loved to go fast, when a firebird tried to pass me outside my house. We were coming home after cruising with the kids. The black Firebird had been riding my *** all the way home trying to get around. We live on the outside of town in a rural area with a paved road in front of the house.......The Firebird saw the way was open and pulled out and kicked in in the *** and I could not resist any longer so I kicked the old pickup down and opened up the big Holley......zoooom we went down the hill in front of the house the girls yelling faster Daddy faster..........I glanced over at the house and much to my.... uh.......surprise I see my wife on the front porch talking to a woman who had come to call.......turns out it was the Pastors wife.........yeah......anyway we were pulling away from the Firebird so I left it on the floor..........it had turned into a hell of a race.....I knew life as it had been was about over for me...........so might as well keep going.......and I should have kept going on and on.......It was a different woman who greeted us at the door and shoo'd the girls in to watch Little Mermaid as they excitedly told Mommy about racing that bad black car then the nice girl I had married.........sigh........took a new fridge and carpet in the great room to thaw that deal out........it is still talked about around the campfires and I think we changed churches soon also.........

Great story H1.

One day when my dad was out of town I washed and waxed my 69 coupe. Took mom out to the steak house after. On the way there some azzhat swerved into the middle turn lane to spash muddy water on my car......without thinking about who was in my passenger seat I did a 180 with the back end swinging more than a base camp girl. Caught up to the azzhat going 125 in a 40....125 was all my 4:11 gezrs would allow me to go. Needless to say Mom never liked that car and refused to get in it ever again.

Been enjoying the motorcycle life all summer. After only having ridden 5,000 miles last year before that deer committed suicide into my Triumph Daytona, I'm back at full strength riding and racing.
Did a 1,200 mile trip on the R1 last week to the twisty/hilly roads of SW Wisconsin.

A trip to the AWESOME Ozark mountains in Arkansas (going again next week)

Added an Italian bike to the harem (MV Augusta).

Several track days at Brainerd International, and Road America.

Took a trip out to RMNP with the lady. Saw hundreds of these guys.

I've only put about 3k miles on the GS, but that's been about my average.
Randy never invites me on his little Corvette trips...
