I was born in 90' so I can't reminisce about the good ole' 80's days but the 80's were a good decade based on what it left behind. (Despite the continuing fuel emission requirements that killed power) But you certainly could argue the 70's were much worse for that and at least in the 80's power was returning! I used to work with a guy who HATED ANY car from the 80's because it was too "boxy". I personally like that design theme, no less than say a 90's or 70's car. Boxy Caprices, Impalas, F-bodies, mustangs, etc. all looked great to me. Not to mention movies like The Terminator, one of my favorite movies!

It's actually nice that the 80's are hated because it makes it cheaper for all of us to buy C4's! haha

What on stranger things made you think that? I haven't watched it but it seems very popular.

Normally I wouldn't agree to the 80's music being better but, I recently got back from a road trip to Myrtle Beach from upstate NY and the gf prefered to listen to the 70's on 7 on Sirius Radio. God, that was such a bad decade for music, there are some exceptions of course. I ended up switching it up to 80's and 90's, kept her happy and it was better I will admit. Btw I am 53 and prefer late 60's tunes to cruise to.

I was born in 65. My earliest memories are of the late 60's. I grew up in the 70's and was a young adult in the 80's. Man was it great! At least from my perspective. Its hard to explain to people (who weren't around) the world before cell phones, internet and 9/11. It's nice to see younger people having an appreciation for a time they never knew...but hey...it's the way I feel about the 50's and early 60's that I missed out on.

Having been born in 1957, I don't appreciate 80's music at all (well maybe a couple songs but I cannot even name them unless I heard them), nor anything after that.

We have Sirius XM in my wife's car and when I am in it, we switch between Classic Vinyl, 50's, 60's an occasional 70's, the 40's channel and the Grateful Dead channel.

Nothing like Rock and Roll by Led Zeppelin to get you mashing on the gas pedal, auditioning for a ticket, followed by some Buddy Holly and other rockers of the late 50's early 60's. I used to have a '69 Roadrunner with a 383 Magnum, a slap stick shifter on the A727 and some other changes I did. It surprised a few folks.

I will even admit (ahem) to listening to the Elvis channel sometimes. I like his earlier music that was in the rock-a-billy style. Gene Vincent was a big rock-a-billy star.

I do like Bowie and Marc Bolan, both glam rockers. Bowie's song Lady Stardust is about Marc Bolan.

But here I go, dating myself, 5 days to 60. Oh well.

My fav band of all time is zep.

so far in my life i have not gotten into country. however now that im 40 and have three you g daughters i suppose i should expect those urges to arrive? haha.

Hope you are all warm this sunday night!

so far in my life i have not gotten into country.
you know how they said if you played rock and roll backwards you heard satanic music ? well you know if you play country music backwards, the repo man brings your truck back, you wife comes home and the dog likes you again

Brooks and Dunn are pretty decent as is Vince Gill (some of their songs).

I didn't get to go see Led Zeppelin, but I did see 3 Dog Night at the Reefer Bowl I mean the Rubber Bowl in Akron Ohio, and Jefferson Airplane and a bunch of others. I was a bit young, but ran with an older crowd and was hitch hiking across town and a guy asked if we wanted to go with him to Woodstock. I was only 12. Would have been a blast. I saw Sha Na Na and a bunch of other groups I don't remember. I missed the Stones when they were here.

Those were the 2 groups I wish I had seen in concert, Zeppelin and the Stones. I had no desire to go see the Dead, even though I like their music.

I was born in the 1960’s on the south side of Chicago and later moved to the south suburbs. I graduated college in the 1980’s and knew all the music, watched MTV when it played music videos, we did see KISS, Rush and Van Halen in concert to name a few, we did miss Led Zeppelin but I think that was a little before my time.

Here is a video we made in 1986, you will see some of the cars we were driving then, make note of the Z28 my friend still owns it and drives it.

What on stranger things made you think that? I haven't watched it but it seems very popular.

I could not agree more. Next on my list of acquisitions are the zr1, a 928, and a f348! All detested! All need updated rims! The 928 needs a body kit as well but i digress.

Watching stranger things left me with a sense of yearing for everything that was the 80's.

It is hard to explain.

But I do know that if you take the awesome parts of the 80's and modernize them, we are in a whole 80's comeback! which I think we are in for and the rising popularity of the c4 (with updated rims for example) is a prime example.

cheers

Was born in 1961 and graduated HS in 1979. Grew up in Staten Island NY so during the 70's it was a combination of rock and disco. I still listen to the same stuff. In the 80's disco was dying and rock was changing a bit depending on what you like. There was New Wave, Heavy Metal and your Bon Jovi, Journey, Springsteen etc. Early rap started as well and Latin Freestyle music in the 80's too.

I pretty much listened to everything then and have the same type of playlists now. To think I had this music on cassettes, CD and now on my phone. Technology may change but music will always live on. I also love a lot of the 60'smusic too.

It wasn't the music of the 70's that was bad, rather it was the selection of 70's music (all the B sides) that Sirius plays. Absolutely horrible, esp when you think you are paying for that.

Road trips now and I dial in Pandora, play the music I select. So much better

Very good point! Just like the IROC-Z 's, not too long ago they were the **** generation but they are gaining traction once again. I had an 89' IROC from 16 to 21 and I miss that car more and more every year. It is such a damn good looking car IMO. It only went away because once I got the C4 I pretty much stopped driving the Camaro. I did still drive it but not as much as the car deserved. Plus the only place I could keep it at the time was on the lawn and I did not want the car to get rotted out with that morning condensation on the grass/bottom of the car every day. I'll have one again someday. Although this time I want an IROC convertible.

Oh and P.S. I'm a HUGE disco fan! Still love my 90's-current country/rock/hip hop but disco is always good!

"The day the music died". Buddy Holly where are you? There just "ain't" anything like good ol' rock and roll. Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, Little Richard and the list goes on. Might be showing my age, but just about everything after the 70's is crap. Heck, even the 70's were pretty slim.

Give me Chicago or Earth Wind and Fire for good cruising music. Beyond that, give me the '70's music any day.

There was some killer music in the 80s
Far as Im concerned once the grunge shoot em up heroin garbage and rap came out late 80s 90s music stopped

Most serious cars Ivehad have no radio in them cant hear it anyway
Best tune is the exh and the clatter of solid rollers
Cannot stand rap country or whatevers playing. Buncha guys whining or rhyming words...wow didnt we learn that in like preK?

Yeah im old so friggin what.
80s Id welcome back...19% interest not so much
