Default Trim Tag Question Might Chage Color to Black

Here is my trim tag. I've searched a little and know that the original color was/is Goodwood Green. It was repainted about 10 years ago GG and it's not a quality job. It has green interior that is original. The L79 motor and M20 trans are original by very authentic looking matching numbers.
I would only repaint another color because it does no carry its original paint.
Will the green interior look bad with the black?
Can somebody please help decode my trim tag? Paint and trim, I'm good.
Is this an a.o. Smith car? If so, does that impact the value?
how about the date code? It is an early '67 VIN 01060.
I can't get a decent picture. Top left are: 67 437. Top right are: A-0048 BODY.
Thanks.

black over green is a very uncommon color combo that I never seen. seeing how you could only get green interior with black, white and green exterior you don't see it too often either. since the green interior is a dark green it would look different if you like green.

is the very top left corner read the letter "A" if so that is August of 66 followed by the date

A-0048 A is the A.O. Smith and the 48th coupe Smith body built

A.O. Smith cars only means you can't fake a BB and side pipe car if that is a value adder or takes away thats your call

the body build date is August 30th and cars birthday is September 16th 1966 which is good as Smith had about a two week lag time

I wouldn't change color, whats wrong with the Green? That always looked great to me. You got an original engine and trans you say. If you are gonna spend the bucks for a repaint paint it to match the trim tag.

Years ago I had a 65 GTO burgandy/maroon color. Me, dumbass had it painted black, big mistake. I was sorry I did it the day I had it done.

Just me though, your car do what you want.

OH boy, here we go again. I have pics on other MAC of 65 fuelie convertible, black over dark green. Matches Trim tag. Very snappy looking.
Of course I prefer the unusual combos over routine ones, and I love green.

found it.
a beautiful combination.

Black with a green interior is a dynamite combination. Go for it.

Thanks for the replies. The car has an aftermarket stinger hood that I want to remove and put the original hood back on. Luckily, I received this extra hood when I bought the car. I need to paint the hood. There are a couple of paint flaws on the body that need attention and the overall quality isn't good. It wasn't block sanded that well. I really like black on these cars. I was just wondering if green interior was ever delivered with a black car and now I know that it has. It also have side pipes that I want to remove and go back to rear. The car shows the original grounding straps and the rear valance has bee filled in. Plus, it's a Smith body so..
I don't hate the green so the decision is to paint the hood and surrounding area and try to match or paint the entire car. If I do that, I'll change the color.

If you decide the green interior just doesn't suit you, and if it otherwise is in good shape, it can be dyed black.

True. Green is very rare and may have good value to sell or keep for later. I could buy a red interior!
Kidding. Sort of. It would be a lot of work. I think green would look good. Mine seems darker than the green interior posted here.

One thing with black over green you will be the only one like it at a car show. I am not a fan of green but I would own that 65 posted above.

That would be totally cool for like an ex-Marine or Army guy! Cool!
