How will it age... (looks-wise)?
This is NOT a thread bashing the C8 in any way. I'm just curious overall how well you guys think this design will age with time? The sharp edges and such. Anyone have an opinion?
Any thoughts or reasons behind what you think as well? Purely from a design standpoint, not anything to do with the engineering.

The C8 is the first generation I will never own. People complain about the rear (horrible) now look at the front! The side air inlets are overly large. The design department started with a clean sheet of paper and failed miserably. It will be interesting to see how the C8 sells once the thrill of a mid engine Corvette diminishes.

Completely subjective... Nobody can predict that...
Especially
with the revolution we're going to see in the next 20 years with electric cars... Meaning engineers no longer having to put a powertrain in the front or rear and build the car around it

How has the Carrera GT aged? 360? Gallardo?

Personally, I honestly love all generations of Corvette. I would own one of each if I could. The C8 is the first one I "must have" and my first ever new one. I think they hit a home run. How it will look in 10 years... not sure I care.
C5s are my favorite generation... owned 4 of them. But now they look VERY long with tons of overhang. They have to be on the right wheels and have just the right stance to still look good. Most don't.
I used to not like C4s as much, but now that 80s are retro, they are starting to look good to me vs. when I was in my teens and was addicted to the C5.

It'll probably look dated compared to the C9, similar to how the C7 looks dated compared to the C8. Whether it still looks good to you is subjective though. No one would say a Gallardo, or 458 looks dated, but you can't say they don't look dated when compared to their newer counterparts the Huracan and 488.

Obviously pretty horrible! I suspect there will be massive discounts before the first one even hits the dealers floors just simply trying to move one before it arrives! I can already predict a "buy one get one free" promotion January 1st that the heads of GM are putting the final touches on right now!
BUY an Impala and get a FREE C8 in any color you want! (package qualifies for 0% financing as well)
(sarcasm)
I believe it will age just fine (no sarcasm)

it is not over the top in any way,
it depends on no gimmicry,
AND it is not overly sedate.

Do you find the C4 sexy as hell?

C8 Is the first generation that doesn't look like a Vette. IMO, all the true believers here have been taken over by the ME concept. They think they are buying a Ferrari, on the cheap.

Are you sure you're not the one taken by the ME concept and feeling that is why it doesn't look like a Vette? It's not like the C7 doesn't have resemblance to an F12...Does this make everyone who bought those Ferrari buyer wannabes? Maybe everytime someone buys a VW Beetle they think they're buying a Porsche too?

I think the c8 will age about as well as the generations before it...
corvettes are an american icon..
i like the c8 design..in person the body contouring especially from the in person side view it truly utilizes the construction SMC material to do things with it that would be quite difficult in metal...
im very impressed more so in person that two dimensional photgraphs.
