Changing order to non-Z51
I've been constantly toying with the idea of calling the dealer to take off the z51 package for 2 reasons.
-Z51 will be on constraint and may allow me to receive the car sooner. Not sure if this will be an issue or not especially since I chose Zeus Bronze which is one of the last colors to be built. I like the the features of the z51, however I have put a deposit down on a z06 and am #1 on the list when they arrive in a couple years. Z06 will be my forever car and this current stingray is just to get me a c8 fix until the z06.
-I don't like any of the 2 spoiler options and will for sure be doing a spoiler delete. It will be very expensive to fill and paint mounting holes on the rear facia. I am a perfectionist so plugs and vinyl wrap isn't a path I would like to go down. I would do it correctly which I assume will cost $1500-$2000.
Do you guys think I would get the car sooner by changing to a non z51 car? I am #10 on the dealers list out of 10 allocations. Just to get the car a couple months sooner makes no sense getting rid of something you wanted. Those couple months will pass and you will be kicking yourself you did not hold off.

It sounds like you wouldn’t necessarily get your car any sooner but you never know.
I would try seeing if you can find someone local with a base non Z51 car the same color as yours that doesn’t have a spoiler and see if they want to swap out the rear bumper cap to get a wing for their car. That would to me be less of a headache than taking it to a body shop and hoping they match the factory paint.

IF your considering selling when your c8 z06 comes in...and your ordering a zeus bronze model id definitely drop z51. That rear spoiler is in my opinion a diametrically opposing item to the elegance and sophistication of the color chosen.
i would suggest a dipped natural interior though ..as it really looks great with that color.
just an opinion.
Not a fan of black wheels with that color but again just an opinion.
id leave the stock wheels and get them powder coated pewter after delivery for $500.

To the OP, since you're getting the Stingray only until the Z06 comes out, I would just put some stickers on the holes, so the new owner could easily reverse your changes.

I haven’t read about any Z51 constraints, but if you don’t want a spoiler then you’re saving a lot of $$ by not ordering it. I think they could have done a better job with the Z51 spoiler, but I wanted the FE4 Mag ride so skipping t wasn’t an option

Those are the only 2 options that make sense.

A no option c8 would make the most sense yet I dont believe money is an issue for the original poster.
i believe are a priority for him. Of course i could be wrong ...
zeus bronze, 3LT interior would sell for 73 grand...maybe 75 if you add the E60 lift...
do the stock rims and powder coat pewter after delivery for $500..
if minimizing depreciation the zeus bronze could be a factor as well as any heavy options....
the gentlemen suggesting a zero option vehicle in white, black, silver color with a black interior would be a better choice for a no option car for quick resale..
I do think there is a possibility the zeus bronze might surprise us with a 3LT dipped natural color at under 75 could hold its value relatively well...
just leave the rest of the options alone except maybe e60 if you think you need that.

Boom, hit the nail on the head right there. I will more than likely be selling it when the z06 comes in so that is a concern of mine as far as resale goes. I understand the color I chose may be tough for resale since it's not popular but I love the color. It may even increase value since that it will more than likely be dropped...who knows.

Personally I have no desire for a Z51. I rather spend the $$$ on a whole ton of other options especially given the fact I do not plan to track my C8.
