Default Trying to make my 84 Vette cool

Hey! I'm a new corvette owner, I got my 84 running a little bit ago and I love it, she is super fun to drive and it is a blast all around but man I wish it was cooler.

So heres my question would anyone be able to help me or give me some guidance on how to make my car sound and look cooler? I don't have enough money to engine swap or anything like that, just looking for some mods to the engine or body that I can do to make it sound and look cool.

I'm mainly looking for sound/engine mods primarily.
(attached picture of car, ignore color its temporary)

Eliminate resonator and go to a Magnafow or other aftermarket exhaust system

What's your budget?

My opinion, 17" Wheels & suspension first. 1988 or 89 that had the first 17" wheels that always looked good. Exhaust 2nd.

Deleting the mufflers and just going straight pipe from resonator back is cheap and they sound great.

i think c5 rims look great on a c4. If you find a set with the c5 tire sizes on them still, it’ll add a little slant to the car as well, as the rears are 1 inch taller in diameter

I had c5 thinspoke wheels on my 89 and lived the look. I have c6 wheels on now, the spokes are a little thicker, and there is a definite rake to the car when the front and rear sidewalls are equal.

How could C5 or C6 wheels add rake to a C4 if they are the same size front and rear?

That color, imo, nice set of staggered wheels, maybe a machine silver-18's or 19's up front and 19's or 20's out back with a nice wide set of tires, as big as you can fit. Maybe lower it just a bit and tint the windows and I think that would look pretty cool.

c5 rims are 18” rear, 17” front.
c4 rims are 17” all around if I remember right.

Nothing cooler than a (eventual) classic that's survived in its original skin all these years. Not judging any eventual choices (as many of them end up fairly tasteful), just letting you know that it's already top notch of the cool scale for some of us.

Definitely been my experience with a lot of things as well.

I had an early life experience with a purchase, and while I was waiting for the thing I ordered to show up I was telling the vendor about all the accessories I wanted to buy for it. He give me some moderately life changing advice: "Why don't you just try it out the way it is before you make any decisions?"

This was a pivotal moment for me, because I learned that a lot of thought goes into the making most things. And as much as the aftermarket has improved many things, sometimes they're a solution pretending there is a problem.

Agreed!!!! Unless you spend more $ than the cost of the car or are a professional bodyman/painter, it's easily possible to end up with paint that's inferior to what you already have!!! The early C4s with gold, light bronze, dark bronze or both are very underrated in my book!!! I searched for a very long time to find a gold one in pristine condition, so I'm a little partial!!! Is your's Metallic Gold or Light Bronze (looks gold)? Hard to tell in the shadows! If nothing else, save the paint for last, and see if it grows on you! How about a picture in the sunlight, from the looks of your first picture, seems like you found one in beautiful condition👍

I love that color and it's in great shape. I agree with above, exhaust, wheels and tires. Beyond that swap in an LS and maybe a 6 speed for giggle factors. Great looking car!!
