Map Update on a 2023
They must be kidding sending me this
the navigation system in your 2023 Chevrolet Corvette is due for an update. We recommend ordering your navigation map today to ensure the latest information is available for your next drive.
Update today for just $99.99.*
*The standard MSRP is $149.99. The $99.99 discounted price does not include sales tax. Promotional pricing offer ends on Ju ly 31, 20 24, and is valid only in the U.S. See web store for eligible vehicle compatibility.
As slow as highway worker move I doubt anything changed in the last 12 months... and it's not about the $100 it's just the thought.

Actually thousands of things change with every update. POI's, speed limits, new roads, new sub-divisions, new addresses, etc.

Thanks for the great post and based on it you must be the only person on the planet who doesn't know about or use Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps etc. Last I checked they are all also free!

However, the other apps (Waze, Google Maps, etc.) work well too and are updated on a regular basis too plus no charge.

Apparently it depends on ones travel experience. I generally use both a built in Nav with stored maps, and also Waze or other phone based nav app that downloads maps in real time. During a cross country trip I have encountered many many discrepancies in the maps. If I were taking a long trip and going to rely on the on board map, I would keep it updated. Even so, they are going to have issues because actually things change faster than one year, not slower. If you do not take long trips where you rely on the map, you may never notice any issues.

i hope the update is NOT from www.Here.com. The last update they did for the C7 navs corrupted the map system. Ask me how I know!
That was at least two years ago and they have not issued an update (or a fix) yet.

Amazing
I never cease to wonder why someone would pay for a map update when they have the most current mapping in their pocket already. For free!
With these native nav data updates, you are paying for mapping that is likely a year+ old by the time you buy it. How current is that?
