Default What have you done to protect your Z

With the high cost of the new Z. I"m curious of what everyone is doing to protect their cars. For me I ordered the car with the radiator guards, ordered rock guards and will get the car ppf'd before I put on the ceramic coating. With gas engines going away.....I figured what the heck and will go the ppf route on this one, because I may not be able to get a new one and really dont want to have to respray/patch it down the road. Another option is just forget about all this crap and just enjoy the car and all the blemishes it may get. Anyway. I will set a poll for some of the common things you may or may not be doing. Select all that apply and let us know what else you are doing.

Enjoy your ride!

Problem is, I’ve done a few of these…and only did the front (bumper/hood/quarter panels) and side rockers with PFF and scratch armor grille guards.

Should be able to select more than one item. I did several for peace of mind. Thanks

The key to protecting the investment of your depreciating asset is to avoid driving it at all costs. The tires wear. Road debris and mother nature add imperfections. We all know how GM leather holds up over time. Mileage reduces the value. Your best bet is to park it in the garage with an inflatable bubble around it.

I plan on doing some PPF, and a ceramic coating for ease of cleaning. Probably do some aftermarket radiator guards as well. Otherwise that's it. Mine will see track time and probably 5-8k miles a year at least so the PPF/ceramic will be useful.

I did, or am doing, all of the list, short the “Just drive it”, interior ceramic coating, and extended warranties. Seems, to me, to be a good investment in preserving what has been the most expensive vehicle I’ve personally ever owned.

Daily it and enjoy it. The only thing I did to it was get a ceramic coat done.

Fortunately I found my C8Z at a dealer who sells a lot of Corvettes and so I felt okay with them installing the Scrape Armor grill guards during PDI. Ceramic coatings are great but they don't offer much in the way of protection. PPF is expensive and I personally don't like the way they mask the true beauty of the paint. It's expensive and not very cost effective when you have to replace it.

I did a Ceramic Pro Gold package with 4 coats of 9H on my MY23 Z51 and it was nice, but when I bought my new Ram last fall, my shop had begun offering an alternative to their Ceramic Pro offering in a new product called Icon Rockclear. I think it's the best of both worlds. 75X stronger and 25x thicker than a professionally installed ceramic coating, on top of a 30% increase in gloss over a ceramic coating. I'm leaving to pick up my new C8Z here in about an hour and will share the pics later.

Yeah I agree. I tried to fix it and I have not figured out how to edit the poll. If anyone knows how, please let me know.
