Can’t trade now…
Was looking to trade ‘24 Coupe for HTC, but seatbelt recall, with no estimated date for fix, has Chevy freezing sales. I should have jumped sooner.

I guess the old saying “snooze you lose” is appropriate here. Hopefully the stop sale will not last too long.

Given the current market, the OP might come out ahead because of the delay. It’s gradually moving towards a buyer’s market. Might be able to pick up an HTC for well below MSRP by the fall.
Might be a blessing in disguise.

As a dealer Stop Sales are just about the most disruptive thing a manufacturer can do for the customer and the dealership. We are stuck with inventory we can sell but can't and have to carry those cars on our floor plan. We can try and get some comp back from OEM for interest accrued but it takes up space and scares customers off of the cars sometimes for good.
This one seems to be rolled out terribly, if they are making new cars that can be sold off the line it means they have the parts needed but are choosing to leave their existing customers and dealers screwed. It is wild to see their decision making. I don't manage any Chevy dealers but if I did I would be pissed.
In I think 2018 Honda Odyssey had a seat belt recall/stop sale. It took a little bit but I heard some crazy stories of how they got parts to customers and dealers before making more down the line.

That’s to be expected. Prices are returning to where they should be and away from their inflated valuations. Supply now far exceeds demand, so that naturally puts downward pressure on the value of your trade-in as well. All the more reason to wait until dealers get even more desperate to move inventory.
Dealerships don’t actually own the inventory on their lots. They acquire inventory through floor plan loans or floor plan credit. Every 30 days, they have to pay interest on every vehicle on their lot, so every month a car sits, the more it costs them. After about 60-100 days, the dealer will have to sell a car at either a break even price or at a loss just to move it. Any dealer still trying to charge ADM is a dealership you should avoid doing business with.
Now is the time to be patient.

My point was it's NOT Bowling Green trying to control the number of C8's being made with a "Stop Sale." They may be cutting Overtime and having a longer than planned shutdown for maintenance etc. May also go to a 4-day work week IF the Union Contract allows them to pay a minimum 32-hour week. Will no doubt increase Z06 and E-Ray production if suppliers can deliver required unique parts. BUT they do not build any C8s for inventory. All are sold to dealers before being made. It's when the dealer's stop buying that limits their build.

SIDEBAR
In our area Honda makes ATV's for the World. They also make nothing for inventory. All built are sold BUT in that case it's to their Sales Department. They in turn sell to dealers. Tried to convince my boss our CEO we should do the same and make our 6 sales regions "own" inventory and we'd have better forecasts, which required input coming from them was a joke. He'd have no part of that! My Product/Business Managers and their administrators had to forecast demand. With many thousand finished goods part numbers and long production schedules it was always wrong. We had excess inventory of the wrong items!
Finally moved from foolishly running the plant with only MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) to Cellular Manufacturing where vendors filled some raw material product bins daily. Cells for our main product could be staffed with different number of workers based on demand. Our ability to deliver what distributors wanted was much better as was product quality!
