What the guys said above about CMP is correct. If you are just starting out with tracking, I'd recommend going with a friendlier course at first like NCCAR in Garysburg. A few Raleigh members here will regularly post up their events. Then there is VIR which is awesome.....Road Atlanta and Atlanta Motorsports Park are good too....just prepare yourself for an addiction worse than heroin.

^^^ - There's your ticket there. Take him up on his offer!
Wow - that video just made me smile the whole time! I can't wait! My VW is a purpose built show car that i've only completed in June 2015; I'm already over it. Thought the showy car was for me but man it got boring FAST!
I like the idea of CMP due to it being nearby. VIR/ATL/Daytona are all very long trips to take to go on a road course. Not sure if my GF would want to do anything of the sorts, but I'm sure if a group in here would be making the trip i'd 100% go.
That being said - what kind of qualifications and classes etc do you need to complete before being able to drive your own car on the track? Are there different licenses for each track?
I wouldn't og ALL out on a build as the Z will be a daily driver until I can pick up a beater car - but I can't imagine doing more than HCI and maybe a SC.

Hey there I was reading your post. Check out nasaproracing.com I've been in there HPDE PROGRAM SINCE JAN 2014 and love it. You can sign up for their Hyperdrive session which cost only $50 and they put you on the track with an instructor to make sure you don't over drive your car. That 20 minute session will give you a taste of what track time is all about. There are 4 different run groups in HPDE, depending on your track experience. If your a beginner you'll start out in run grp one always with an instructor. I live in Charlotte and am happy to meet up with you to tell you of my experience and what you should expect and what mods at a minimum you should consider if you go for it. I have a Z51 05 Modified C6, my 8th vette and this one is solely setup for the track. I'm signed up for 8 sessions this year with NASA, starting with CMP in two weeks. And one thing is for sure it is more addictive than anything I can imagine. Give me a buz!

Has anyone been to the CC at Foreign Cars Italia? How was it? I could imagine that once it gets warmed up and the word gets out...cars will be crammed all over the place.
NC Music Factory was such an awesome location....

I went last month. It was okay, they moved a lot of cars into their buildings in order to accomodate more cars into the lot. People were parking all the way around the buildings basically.

It is definitely on. At jaguar/Maserati place right next to Foreign Cars Italia off Tyvola. 7:30-
I was there last month and I thought it worked out pretty well as a temp spot. I understand there is a new "regular" location in the works... Maybe for March? Hope to see some Corvettes there Saturday!

I'd love to meet any of you going. If you see my red VW i'm usually not far from it

LOLLLL. I can't take that phrase seriously...especially when its a bunch of hot girls on TV screaming it.
I'm a Patriots fan coming from New England naturally, but I still root for the Panthers as they're the home team...but god I just can't get over that.
