Great news! We have been approved by the Wounded Warrior Project to use their logo and all resources available to us through their community.

Please check the "sticky" for all current information.

You can also go to:https://www.woundedwarriorproject.or...&id=906&Itemid

and check the calendar section for info coming soon about this event as well as seeing what your dollars support!

You may also make donations directly to the Wounded Warrior Project by going to that site.

We look forward to seeing everyone and it's looking good to be a very successful event for a great cause!

Stan

I'll be talking with the Balboa Medical Center next week regarding transportation to and from the event for wounded warriors. Can I get an idea of how many people will be available to offer their time and cars to pick these soldiers up? I don't want to set it up and then we don't have enough cars for transportation.

If interested please post here:http://forums.corvetteforum.com/sout...ser-event.html

Thanks!

Stan

I'm still waiting to hear from the Balboa Medical Center for wounded warriors but I have some other good news. We are cleared for a "car show" so-to-speak but we can't use those words on the flier. Any suggestions on wording that would let everyone know that we will have some sweet cars to check out? I was thinking "Show And Shine?"

Also, we will have a live band as well

These two hurdles we've overcome

The hours will change a bit so please check the sticky thread.

By the way, we have an awesome flier that will be up soon

Bill, If you go to the main sticky you'll see an address where people can send donations or they can go to the Wounded Warrior Project.com and pledge there.

A few updates are; the band "Driven" will perform for 4hrs and a hummer painted in Marine colors is scheduled to be there. We're printing t-shirts with the poster logo on the back to sell ( looking for a sponsor for that ) all media outlets print and tv have been contacted. 50 Posters will be distributed throughout the area.

Bring your sunscreen and chairs and expect to have a great time for an even greater cause

How does everyone feel about opening this event up to other cars? Such as a hot rod club??

This is for the Vets, not the Vettes. I would say do whatever you can to raise money for the Vets. They are what is important. JMO

I've exhausted all my avenues of contacts regarding us picking up wounded warrior soldiers. With this event being held on 9/11 most of the soldiers have prior commitments and events to attend. I do have some posters sent to a couple of hospitals so who knows.

I was hoping to have a representative there to accept a check from this event.

We're getting close and there's still behind the scenes work going on to make this a successful event for our wounded warriors

We're just a few days away from a great event supporting an even greater cause, the Wounded Warrior Project which supports wounded soldiers and their families.

Please come out if you can and show your support for our soldiers who have given us so much to be proud of

A big "Thank You" to everyone who has helped to bring this together and a special thanks goes to those that have donated items for the raffle and auction

Finally, thanks to my sister MJ for letting us use your restaurant and dealing with the powers to be to allow us to use the parking area. Thanks for all the other things you've done to get the word out

See everyone Sat
