Nice to finally meet you. Too bad you were unable to make the drive. We had an excellent turn out. See you next time.

Glad you made it home! Sucks to hear what happen to the car. How did those semis make it pass you and the cop that came up as I left?

Likewise, I used to do the drives all the time when I was younger and didn't have a child. Now I have to wait until I'm older when my son gets older. Bring your car by sometime to the Y car show on Saturday. I'd like to take a look at your car.

What happened to your car?

Here are some of the pics that my daughter and I shot today.

Gathering at the Y.

Ryan (Red Wulken) just got his first Vette, a 2002 Z06. His brother came out with a nice WS6 TA.

This import driver tried to sneak into the group.
J/K, Jason's (1 BAD ZR1) Lambo. Must be tough deciding which to drive, that or the new ZR1.

John's (A TX427) 900 RWHP C6 Vert.

Cruising to Johnson City.

My daughter and I.

Met up with the Hill Country group of the club In Johnson City at an old un-used gas station.

Than on to Fredericksberg.

We had quite a group by the time we got there.

The rest of the herd ate at a Brew Pub. There was a wait for a group of 40-45 and I had a project waiting for me. My daughter and I had to go. I let her drive home.

Better get to that project now.

Cozmo - Awsome pictures! Great seeing you today.

I took some video from the drive, but the camera was set at 320x240, so it is difficult to see at 100% and grainy at 200%. I will have it figured out the next time.

Here is a teaser - You can go to my youtube page and see the rest.

Strangest thing - I was taking it pretty easy on the way home and it just locked up as I pulled up to a stop sign. You know the one on highway 290 on the median when you turn onto 281? There probably is a worse place to get stranded, but right now nothing is coming to mind.

The good news is that the DPS did an increadible job keeping us / the car safe while we waited for the wrecker, who was excellent as well. Comal Towing 210-393-2010, just in case you are ever stranded out that way or into San Antonio - highly recommend. He had extra long blocks so the car would not scrape and dumped the car right inside the garage. The owner was a very nice guy

John,

Sorry to hear about your car trouble. I suppose that's part of the program when you're making that much power!!! We actually went by as your car was on the flatbed. My heart sank when we were approaching the turn for 290, and I saw the flashing lights, then the white vert with black wheels! You hate to use the word "happy" in any situation like the (flatbed), but as soon as I saw the car was just fine I felt a little "happy" to see that it wasn't an accident. I felt like crap for not stopping, but it looked like things were under control, and I didn't think you wanted to ride in to Austin in the back of a coupe .

It was nice to meet you, and I'm glad the DPS, and towing company, did a good job. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Default Thats why we live in Texas

Ray - Awsome Run! The wife even enjoyed herself.

Larry - Great Pics! I need a few of the group shots for the newsletter.

John - Thanks for the beer I owe you one! I got a call last night that your car was getting the flatbed treatment. I am glad you are OK and it was only a mechanical issue.

Thanks George - shouldn't be that big of a deal. sheit happens. I had planned on taking the car out of service anyway, so Dallas Performance can install my ET LS7 top end. I am going to find the limits of an F1C blower - hopefully aruond 1,100 whp.

Chris - anytime my friend.

Hey John,
let me add my condolences. Sorry about your car. I hope everything works out with the repair. There always seems to be some pains when folks I know get very high hp. I hope you get the issues all worked out.

Cheers,
Larry

For those that are interested we are having another run this coming Sunday starting at 11 at the Y at Oak Hill. We will have a cruise and end up at North by Northwest in Austin for lunch again. This cruise should be about 1 1/2 hours with part of if in the hill country and part in some of the Austin scenic areas.

Damn, we're heading to Dallas this weekend to visit our younger daughter.

Ray, there is one more "beer" cruise to Boerne coming up, right?

Have fun, and be safe!
