There is a better way!! South on AZ Ave and cut South East to Sacaton. I say the rally point is downtown Chandler (Arizona Ave and Chanlder Blvd) in front of the San Marcos Resort.

Take 101 South to Chandler Blvd and head East. Go 3 miles to Arizona Ave and turn right, it's on your right.

Take 87 to 79.

GTABurnout,
As a courtesy to the McDonald's owner, how about asking everyone to pop inside and pick up an Egg McMuffin and coffe or something as a thank you for mobbing his parking lot. After all, it is his business and not public property. I am always willing to do a little PR for our community. It looks like this is going to be a serious event.
Thanks,
Gary

I like the way you think...

In addition to the McDonald's there is also a grocery store to its a fairly large parking lot and its not really imposing on the McDonald's business. I usually get drinks from the grocery store rather than loading up on McDonald's.

As for driving down from PHX, sounds like you guys have it covered. One other option I've done in the past was through Queen Creek down Gantzel road diagonally (it has a bunch of different names) to Arizona Farms across to 79 then through Florence. It's been a while and I was in my truck but I don't remember it being bad at all. It was the shortcut route to the motocross track on Ironwood Hills just south of 60.

I might just need to bring a camcorder to tape the precession of cars going down .
There's also talk of a car show being put on by the local Hooter's during the day of our run that they would ask us to participate in, and they would give food deals to the car owners. This Hooter's is fairly close to where we will be making our run. I'll let everyone know about this as it unfolds, as I'm not the person setting this up in Tucson.

Only a couple weeks to go before this run. How many here on this site are definetly going to make it Saturday morning on August 15, 2009 ?
As the departure rally point and time are set for our Phoenix group, it would be nice to know how many and which members are expecting to show so we can identify if/when we might have a person running a little late.

With a Hooter's car show setup on the same day after the run is completed, and a bikini car wash by the Hooter's girls on the agenda as well, I think their management is wanting to know how many cars they are going to need to accomadate when they rope off the parking lot.

I'm open to any suggestions on how to accomplish this...how do you normally "poll" who is wanting to participate in runs, so that a list can be generated ?

Ok, took me a while to catch up, but I'm still in.

Got the oil changed last week and a good coat of NXT on. Straightened out the curves to Tortilla flat the other day just to stay on game.

Looking forward to this one!!
