How hard is it to strip and refinish chrome wheels? I have OEM chrome wheels that I may want to refinish to a high polish/ clear coat combo.
Thanks,
Rick

Stripping and re-chroming is not easy or cheap. I was quoted something over $300 from the only shop around here that would do it, and they actually send the wheels back to California. Takes about 4 weeks.
One shop told me that chromed wheels can only be re-chromed, not stripped and painted. Another shop said stripping and painting could be done. Go figure...

Thanks, these are Alcoa's and are ok right now, but was wondering what my option was down the line if I want to either rechrome or go to a polish look. It may be cheaper to buy a set of polished speedline wheels.
