1. The Wave

While driving your Corvette around town, you will occasionally come across other drivers in Corvettes of all different generations. These interactions can be exciting, especially for those newer to the world of Corvette ownership. Recognizing your fellow Corvette owners with a wave or two-finger salute is a show of camaraderie in Corvette culture.

2. The Brief Conversation

If the universe puts you in a parking lot near another Corvette, it's hard to resist a brief conversation with the other owner. More often than not, other owners appreciate a follow enthusiast approaching them to talk Corvette for a minute.

Editor's note: I've lost count of the number of times I have been approached at gas stations with my C4 Corvette by folks who are excited to tell me about their Corvettes. And I welcome them to a conversation every time.

3. Classic Corvettes

The Corvette is the most legendary American sports car, and when you look at the classic ones, you see where the art has come from, and how it evolved into what you're driving today. When coming across an older generation Corvette, it's always a worthwhile effort to try to appreciate these classic machines up close. It's the smallest details of older 'Vettes that will capture the imagination of enthusiasts.

4. Top Down

For most Corvettes from the third generation onward, even the coupes have the capability to go topless. Many would argue that if you want to take a drive with the top down, why not just take out the convertible? But it's nice to know that your coupe can be transformed into an open-air beach cruiser in a matter of minutes. Plus, having the Targa top off looks just so darn cool. That's why cruising down your favorite roads in perfect weather with the top off is highly encouraged!

5. Drag Racing

When you drive a Corvette, you will experience a lot of street challenges. Anyone with a four-banger and a load of insecurities will launch next to you at the street light so they can go home and be happy about racing a Corvette. Lord knows it happens to this editor on a daily basis! But it's imperative that we do not engage as Corvette owners. Street racing can be extremely dangerous, especially when it involves cars that are as powerful and quick as Corvettes. If it doesn't end in catastrophe, engaging in this behavior will only stain the image of the sports car in the eyes of the public, and more importantly, law enforcement!
