Collector's Item

When it arrived on the scene, the C6 ZR1 was nothing less than a revelation and one of the most powerful production cars in existence at the time. Today, it's also slowly becoming a collector's item, unsurprisingly. This particular example has just 17k miles on the clock and recently sold for a significant $66,500 over at Bring a Trailer, and it appears to be worth every penny of that hammer price.

One-Owner Special

What some may not realize is the C6 ZR1 is also a bit of a rare bird, as GM produced just 4,684 of them over a five-year run. This particular car is also pretty much a one-owner machine too, as it was purchased new by the seller's son. The Torch Red beauty has a few options as well, including the 3ZR Premium Equipment Group and chrome 19″ and 20″ wheels.

Even Rarer

That paint color makes this car one of just 205 produced in 2010, and the hue covers a host of carbon fiber bits including the hood, fenders, and floor panels along with visible carbon accents on the front splitter, roof, roof bow, and side skirts. The car still wears its original 285/30 front and 335/25 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires, too.

Comfy Cabin

Inside, this particular ZR1 features an Ebony interior with contrast stitching, along with carbon fiber trim accents in the center stack. The 3ZR equipment group adds heated and power-adjustable sport seats, a Bose stereo system, and navigation.

Heart of the Beast

Of course, the heart of the C6 ZR1 is its supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V8, which was rated to produce 638 horsepower and 604 pound-feet of torque from the factory. It's fitted with a dry-sump lubrication system and sends copious amounts of power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

Immaculate Machine

Other than oil changes and a battery replacement, this C6 ZR1 has simply been immaculately cared for over the years, and it shows. There certainly aren't many nicer examples of this special machine out there on the market, and it seems like this one earned every bid it received.
