Never Enough

"ZR1" has always stood for the ultimate in Corvette performance, no matter the generation. That's also true of the C6, which shocked the world when it launched with a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V8 that produced 638 horsepower and 604 pound-feet of torque, a mind-blowing number back then, and still an impressive figure today. Regardless, for the owner of this 2010 ZR1 up for grabs at Chicago Motor Cars, that wasn't quite enough.

Few Hints

This Velocity Yellow C6 looks fairly normal on the surface, save for a few modifications including Morimoto C7 headlights, smoked taillights, and BC Forged wheels wrapped with Mickey Thompson ET Street tires out back measuring 335/30 and offering some hint as to what's going on under the hood.

Heavily Fortified

"That" is a heavily modified version of this car's original engine, with a host of Kong components including its 2650 supercharger, tensioner, stage 4 cam, carbon intake, and 1 7/8" headers, along with GMPP CNC ported LS9 heads, and ARP head bolts.

Big Number

The mighty LS also features a Lingenfelter snout, 2.6" upper pulley, 14 percent lower pulley, an Edelbrock heat exchanger, DMS fuel pump kit, Corsa Xtreme exhaust, Injector Dynamics 1050X injectors, and a trunk-mounted ice tank to churn out 1,002 horsepower at the wheels.

Well Equipped

A Monster LTIS clutch was fitted to the factory manual gearbox to help handle all that power, but this C6 ZR1 is otherwise apparently pretty much stock. That includes the inside, which is quite nice thanks to the 3ZR Premium Equipment Group option and its host of amenities.

Comfy Ride

Thus, even for a car that's well over a decade old now, there are plenty of modern amenities here like Bluetooth, navigation, dual-zone climate control,  memory seats, a Bose 7-speaker stereo system, and a touchscreen, all with four-digit wheel horsepower on tap for those times when you just want to rip.

Extra Special

Outside of its incredibly loud exhaust and sticky rear tires, bystanders would never know what's going on under the hood of this Corvette, too, which is what makes it extra special in our book.
